Beginning January 1st, 2010 the new Georgia Super Speeder law was enacted. The law states that any drivers cited for speeding at 75mph on any 2-lane road or 85mph on any other road, no matter the speed limit, will be charged an additional $200 on top of all other fee’s and fines associated with the original speeding ticket.

This means that if you are cited for driving 20mph or more above the speed limit on highway 75 (outside of the perimeter) you will receive your normal ticket and be charged an additional $200 to the state under the Super Speeder statute.

Because of this, it is now more vital than ever that a driver with a speeding ticket contact a Dekalb traffic attorney such as Sam McRae for legal representation after receiving a speeding citation. It could mean an additional savings of $200 on top of your other potential fines.
